Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays here at Pardee. The house is filled with family and friends. The table is covered with a delicious feast.
Unfortunately, there are many on the Westside without family and friends, a warm home, or full table, but there are many ways you can still help make their Thanksgiving great!
We have put together a list of some wonderful organizations, establishments and events that we can all volunteer and contribute to, who are opening their doors to the less fortunate, giving everyone in our community something to be thankful for.
Westside Thanksgiving Community Dinner & Celebration
This annual event takes place at the West LA VA Center, and is open to both volunteers and donations. They provide warm meals as well as haircuts, blankets, clothing and hygiene kits to the less fortunate on both Wednesday the 25th and Thursday the 26th.

22nd Annual Homeless Feeding & Banner Creation
This event takes place this Saturday, November 21st, in Playa Del Rey, and has volunteers preparing meals that will be provided on Thanksgiving to both homeless and low-income in the community. Volunteers also can participate in creating From-The-Heart banners that will be hung in over 18 homeless shelters in the community. Thanksgiving Dinner & Clothing Boutique
On Wednesday, November 25, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., St. Monica Catholic Community will host its 36th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for an expected 1000+ guests.
Served family-style, the dinner is an uplifting event especially for those in need, but all are welcome to join, including children of all ages! The dinner is followed by a boutique with free items of clothing, blankets, sleeping bags, and toiletries.

Thanksgiving “Feed The Beach”
The Fruit Gallery is bringing back its “Feed The Beach” event for the third year, providing hot meals for the underprivileged of Venice. They are looking to the community to volunteer or donate cooked turkeys, canned goods, desserts, beverages, serving trays, or monetary donations.

Give Thanks & Gobble
Envisioned by 17 year old Skye Montgomery, Give Thanks & Gobble is a turkey luncheon hosted and produced by leaders in the Santa Monica community and their families. Skye founded this event as her Girl Scout Gold Award project in 2011 to bring awareness to the issue of hunger and homelessness and provide a true Thanksgiving experience to the less fortunate. The event is an opportunity for donors and their families be directly involved in helping those in need during the holiday season.
