Gardens are something everyone admires and may want, but
it’s so easy to become overwhelmed with the thought of actually doing it
Fear no more! The trend of succulent gardens (fun fact: also
known as ‘hens and chicks’) has made it incredibly simple for those with no
green thumb to be found to make a beautiful home garden – big or small.
The forecast for this Mother’s Day weekend in the usually
always-sunny LA is cloudy and cold, so we thought we would provide you with an
activity that will inspire you to brighten up mom’s
weekend with some drought-friendly succulents.
Step #1: Garden box – garden boxes can be found in a variety
of colors and styles at Home
and your local
nursery or flower market.
Step #2: Succulents – succulents are extremely easy to take
care of as they require very little taking care of 😉 Succulents are desert
plants and love the dry heat and sunshine. During the winter months, succulents
are dormant and do not need water, but when the weather starts to get warmer,
this is their growing phase and you should plan on watering them once to twice
a month tops, and very little.
Step #3: Put some soil into your garden boxes, gently place
succulents into the soil and secure, and enjoy!
