Venice Art Crawl Next Thursday
Thursday, July 20th 6-10pm
One of the reasons we love Venice so much is that it’s home to so many talented artists. There’s something uniquely “Venice” about the work these extraordinary individuals create. From music to paintings, sculpture and photography, the Venice Art Crawl is a community favorite. VAC educates us about the history of Venice while getting a glimpse into its future.
We took a deeper dive into what the Venice Art Crawl is all about and want to share how awesome this community event truly is.
The Venice Art Crawl’s (VAC) mission is to preserve the arts in Venice, a place that has historically been known as a vibrant and dynamic art community.
The goal is to share, inspire, and promote collaboration within the Venice community through mixers and art events.
The Venice community has a strong and rich history built on public art. The Venice Art Walls, built in 1961, near the sand in Venice Beach, were covered in graffiti style art. Though street art is typically illegal, the community loved and embraced the unique style. Many musicians got their start in Venice and, even today, there are many street performers along the boardwalk, one can’t help but dance to the music.
With this history in mind, the volunteers at Venice Art Crawl strive to build on the past while embracing the future. They strive to keep the art culture alive in this special community and allow for its residents, new and old, to all come together and enjoy the art.
